"Rooted in Secularism, Standing for Rights"
SRO is a non-profit organization committed to promoting, protecting, and advancing the rights of minority communities within the culturally rich and religiously pluralistic society of Bangladesh. As Bangladesh is home to at least 54 ethnic groups and over 40 languages, secularism has been one of the most important foundational principles of the country to allow its diverse cultural, linguistic, and religious communities coexist under a single national identity.

Our mission
To amplify marginalized voices through our platforms and international exchange, strategic advocacy, grassroots engagement to build awareness, legal support for victims of blasphemy, and the publication of yearly research-based comprehensive reports on human rights violations in Bangladesh. As a human rights organization based in Bangladesh, our primary goal is to work towards building a rational and pluralistic Bangladesh by defending secularism, documenting abuses through rigorous research, supporting victims of religious persecution, and mobilizing communities and institutions for long-lasting change.
Our vision
A Bangladesh where secularism safeguards freedom of belief and thought, diversity is strength, and education grounded in scientific reason shapes the nation’s future.
